The Cortez Triaxle's engine is a modern turbodiesel 6.6L V8, giving it a hefty 390 horsepower to the rear eight wheels. Acceleration is above average, but good for the vehicle's size. Top speed is also higher than the similar Chevy Corvan at 125 MPH.
Because of the size and weight of the vehicle, braking is average. However, it does come with ABS, an unusual feature in such an old vehicle. However, it can be assumed it was added as a modification during its transformation into a triaxle.
Handling is poor, even at low speeds. There is also a greater chance to tip over when taking tight turns because of the camper's height.
- The vehicle is based on the camper in the Pixar movie The Incredibles down to the sliding front windows; albeit without the spare tire on the rear and hatch-like side door.
